A well written issue. Crane's inner turmoil is a good mix of self-loathing and obsession, which really made for a gripping issue. Also, i've seen the Joker written tons of times by different authors and I must say, this wasn't half bad. Good stuff overall.

great stuff! Scarecrow is my favorite classic Batman villain (Ra's al Ghul still ranks as the greatest villain of all time in my eyes though.) and I thought you captured his character very well! I'd love to see you do more Scarecrow stuff in the future! Kind of bugs me that the Joker has to appear in almost every incarnation of Batman, but you wrote him pretty well, so that's a plus.... keep up the good work!

I thought this was very well written. Some great interaction between Joker and Crane. This is a very well thought out and extremely well executed story. I'm really enjoyed reading this. So much so that I actually read it twice.
Excellent, excellent, work here.
And an amazing cover that really creates the mood of this piece. I'd give this entire package 6 stars if I could.

When I asked Aaron to do a piece for RG and he jumped at the chance.. I was floored when I first saw this issue. Best part about doing RG which is more an ensemble collection is neat because of the variety of writers that come in and write some great stuff.. Pat first and now Aaron.. I am going to do a little piece by myself next month, but then I am going to push on ahead with two other writers that I think do good work... and hopefully there'll be some fun ahead. ***** from me, Outstanding portrayal of Dr. Crane.. I think Aaron smashed in through with flying colours. cover idea was mine, but it was done so brilliantly that it exceeds my own expectation.. It's a hard one for me, but I think as a writer I can learn a lot of from the people doing work on RG... I hope to get more heavy hitters sometime soon. *eyes Brian and John and Jay Mac*

actually, I've had an idea for a storyline in NO that would be great to start here as a Rogue's issue before I went forward with the story. I'll PM you.

First off, wow, what a cover!
Yes, the main theme is that I felt that Crane would work best if he does what he does out of self-loathing for being what he is. So to create another identity would allow you to be someone else entirely. Frankly, it's an issue (self-loathing) I have dealt with myself for my entire life, and though I don't believe I'm psychotic about it, I wanted to explore a reaction to it taken to the extreme.
Thanks. I think. Glad you liked the issue.

Thank you for the praise.
The thing about the Joker is that in my opinion, he's an extremely interpretive character. My Joker might be different than the way you would write him, or another author would. He is my favorite comics villain of all time, and he's been portrayed so many different ways in the media (in print and in film) that you'd need a scorecard to keep track of it all. I'm not afraid to write him, and if what I've done with him works for you, great, if not, that's okay too. And as ubiquitous as he is in the DCU, I'm not sure the Joker has been overused in the DC2. Yet. Maybe I'm wrong.
At any rate, thanks for reading, and thanks for the praise.

Normally I write sort of "on the fly", letting the story progress organically as I'm writing it without fully planning ahead. This one was different. It came to me almost fully formed while I was taking a shower (I seem to do some of my best thinking in there- HA!) and I only had to tweak it a little. Very unusual for me. So yes, it was very much thought out beforehand.
This coming from the writer of New Outsiders, one of the standard bearers of excellence of the DC2? And writer of the year to boot? Thank YOU, sir!
The cover blew me away. Six stars for that cover, absolutely.

Thank you, Jay, for the opportunity. Had a blast writing it, and your cover idea worked brilliantly. I appreciate your kind words. I wanted to do something different and not just only be the "Ambush Bug Guy". It's good to get my feet wet writing again, and I'd like to begin contributing regularly to the site again.
Again, thanks.

In many ways, Scarecrow's entire criminal career is defined by Joker and Batman. How sad that even in his villany, he's still driven by others.
And Jay Z, I 'd love to do something, but I've no idea what, and I've got too many things on my plate as it is.

I liked it a lot. Never was a huge Scarecrow fan until I saw Batman Begins where he was creepy as hell. I think you did a great job getting into Crane's head and showing what makes him tick. And I don't blame him for wetting himself when he came face to face with Bats. Hell I would too lol.
