I liked it. Kemel Asad is revealed to be the big bad guy and has alliances with everybody's favorite classic GA bad guy, the Count. Mia is caught in an interesting position and Connor apparently has superpowers, seeing as he was hit by a car and then fought bad guys in less than a day. Fun stuff. I wanna see where this is going.

As for Connor, it wasn't exactly super powers that got him up and moving, but that will be explained.

Playing catch up here...you did it to me again. For a minute, I thought you killed Mia.
Wonder where Eddie is. Wonder what Eddie did, or failed to do.
As for Connor, he's still so innocent. As much as Mia, maybe more so, it makes my heart ache. Mia can already fathom cruelty; she's experienced it. Connor hasn't, yet. But that eye shot was badass.

Let this be a lesson to you, Ollie: don't leave your equipment lying around in some foreign street where anybody can grab it and play dress-up! ;D Great stuff, and heart-wrenching as well. I also thought that poor girl was Mia for a moment. And Count Vertigo returns! What's it been, 2 years? Oh, whatever happened to DC2's All-Star Comics, it had such potential...

Playing catch up here...you did it to me again. For a minute, I thought you killed Mia. Gotcha! No way I'd kill Mia... yet... That's a good question, and one that may or may not be answered soon. Heh heh heh Liked that eye hit, huh? Good, I was pretty impressed with it myself. And you are so right, Connor is very innocent to the ways of the world. It's almost sad that I'll be taking away his innocence. well that didn't sound right... but thanks for reading and commenting!

Geez, you people think I would have axed Mia when she's hardly been around. How cruel do you think I am... don't answer that. Yes, Count Vertigo returns, and some of what happened in his first appearance a couple of years ago in All-Star Comics, will be addressed in the next couple of issue's. Thanks for reading and responding, as always.

A solid, tense story. Scary at places, and well-deserved of the praise it's getting. A good use of the cast you've set up for yourself, and things move along at an excellent pace.
It's a dark story, which is appropriate for the subject matter, which is why having Count Vertigo be the big bad is rather jarring to me. That just never works for me. There's a disconnect in my brain. The majority of comic book villains are just at one level of villainy, and it's tough for me to handle a story that has them behaving in such dark and ugly fashion. It's hard to explain. It's like the scene in Identity Crisis...ultimately, Doctor Light is a kook with a white fin on his head, and underwear over his tights (particularly bad for him, since he wears white, the color of most briefs and boxers for men LOL). For him to do what he did was just not right.
There are some villains I can deal with going that route. When Bendis souped the Purple Man up like he did, I could accept that.
Regardless of that though, I did like to see Vertigo show up. He's always a great GA villain to have around. ANd despite the disconnect for me, the story was serviced very well and it made the situation easier to handle by and large.
Good job, and as ever, I look forward to the next month's entry, as I root for Connor and Mia.
Take care Don

I'm glad your enjoying the book and the cast. I've got many plans for all of them... some good... some bad... some just plain sad. I'm hoping you'll enjoy what's coming up. Of course, I'm getting a new Editor, and you know how hard those guys are to deal with. This is where I want to blurt out stuff that I shouldn't. LOL! Perhaps there is more than one big bad. Perhaps there has been a sudden fork in the road and we are now traveling down two different paths instead of one. Perhaps... Dr. Light is an interesting example for what you speak of, and to be honest, I have to respectfully disagree with his story in the DCU. Personally, I liked it. Yes, it darkened his character (along with a few of our heroes as well), and as much as I enjoy the black vs. white of the comic world, bringing a huge amount of grey into a character makes them more interesting for me. Dr. Light as a loser was fun and entertaining. Dr. Light as a real psychotic and a rapist... well after thirty some years of reading comics... it was a nice 180 that was refreshing. But as I've always said, the great thing about any kind of art is that it is all subjective. It's what makes it so much fun to talk about. Did I mention the possibility of a fork in the road yet? I am glad that everyone seems happy to see The Count returning. Wait til you see what other new and improved villain I drag up from GA's very distant past... if I can get it by that new Editor guy. ;D And as always, I look forward to your thoughts and comments, my friend!

Very good issue. (I finally found the time to read it) Kemel Asad is a big bad ba§tard killing that little girl. I can't wait for Ollie to kick his ass. I hope he breaks his legs and arms but only after breaking every finger this guy has....
...ahm...
What I wanted to say was that it's a well written story that deserves 5 stars. You made me really hate the bad guy and to feel sympathy for a character that appeared for only like 2 minutes. You managed to give her a backstory within one sentence and made me feel sick to see her dying. Damn, you are good. Connor taking the mantle of his father and coming to his rescue will be a great read in the next issue I can't wait to read. I hope we'll find out soon about Eddies secret. Because you've got me interested it that, too. Well done.

I appreciate the kind words. I'm hoping that it proves interesting... to say the least. ;D Have no fear, you aren't going to have that long of a wait at all, and hopefully it will reveal a LOT more about Eddie. As always, thanks for reading and taking the time to respond.

Conner really came into his own in this issue and I actually began to like him a little. I've never been a fan of the character but here…I may be coming around a bit. More Eddie and Ollie fun plus the way GA and son nearly ran into each seemed so cliched but damn it Brian you made it work! Asad is truly an evil man but you Mr. Burchette are the worst kind of evil! You killed Mia you bastard! Wait what happened? Ok….that was just mean! Mia was safe and sound with Count Vertigo the whole time! Wait what happened? Oh crap! At least Ollie is going to be rescued Green Arrow! Wait what happened? This issue was boring, slow, and made no sense! See...its not fun being tricked is it? ;D Otherwise I loved it and Ramon's cover was pretty damn cool even if it did lend to misdirection in the issue. 5 stars!
