And how much is Jonah getting paid for this guest-shot, because I get a percentage. ;D Great job you did here, Pat, you've really piqued my interest in Booster -- I really prefer the "humbled by previous experience" version that he's become over the past year or so (both here and in the DCU) to the pompous jerk that he's always been protrayed as. I wasn't sure what to expect out of this series, but now that I've read #1...well, I'm STILL not sure what to expect, but it looks like fun! Wowzer, indeed!

Immense, full of mysteries and conspiricies, and what's going on with Rip Hunter? Why is he acting like he didn't banish Booster for an entire year? What's going on?!

The check is in the mail... only thing is, the date on the check is 1879... will your bank accent a check that old? Hex will make another appearance in issue #3. Booster still has some quirks in his personality that others will find... annoying (to say the least)... but he's certainly going to do some growing here. But not TOO much

It's almost like there's some major mystery behind things... maybe something that might not be revealed for months and months? One can only hope Thanks Charlie!

Daring heroes! Chronal paradoxes! Idiotic slang! This book has it all!
Seriously, this was a lot of fun. It's always a party when some screws with the timestream. Perhaps we may see some familiar futuristic characters? Maybe one Terry McGuiness?
Good stuff. Looking forward to the next issue.

Rip isn't Rip, he's an alternate Rip. And the alternate Booster is the one the real Rip had been playing with...until whatever went wrong....did.
At least, that's my theory.
Interesting.

Wait.. if Rip wasn't Rip, but was an alternate Rip.. wouldn't that still make him Rip, even if the Rip in question was not the actual Rip but another Rip? Or does the fact that he's an alternate Rip actually over-write the fact that the actual Rip is actually himself an alternate Rip of the alternate Rip? And do two alternate Rips make an un-alternate Rip? And is "un-alternate" even a word? Oh My God, my head hurts and I'm the one writing the friggin thing... In any case Arc, I don't want to spoil the secret yet, but I will tell you that you're a little off base. Thanks for reading!

It took me a while but it was worth it. A great beginning that has me entranced. I love your version of Rip and of Booster. The intrigue is... well... intriguing. 5 stars. Keep it up!
although it's too bad that there was no cover for this great first issue.

An interesting first issue. A bit tough to follow not having read Powers, Inc. But the writing was good, and the characters seemed to be pretty much in place, and that helped make things interesting. I'm a big fan of the Blue and the Gold so it's always nice to get to see Ted and Michael get together. It was enough to get me to come back for a second issue and see what I think of the series as it develops.
The bit about the Lord of Time though...has he made an appearance that I've not found yet?
Take care Don

The bit about the Lord of Time though...has he made an appearance that I've not found yet? No, the idea is that as of the first issue of the book, Booster has already been working with Rip for months. None of the adventures he's had so far has appeared anywhere on DC2. I thought it was better to start with an established situation then do a whole "origin" set up couple of issues. I'm glad you liked it enough to try out issue #2!!

There was a great cover that DarthSylly did (you can see his inked artwork already connected to the issue) that the colorist did not get done in time. Syl was away on holiday when the issue was released but has since colored it and we should see it attached in a day or so!

First off, the cover was a perfect homage to a classic cover. Great job Sly. That was five stars all on its own.
The opening scene with Jonah Hex was pretty cool. From there I was slightly confused, possibly because it's been quiet awhile since I read Powers Inc. I take it that there was suppose to be a few subtle hints being dropped about Hunter but it seemed a little forced. I didn't mind the nonlinear story approach but it was hard to follow. For a first issue it felt like you had to already know whats occurred before this issue to get the whole story.
Nice to see Blue Beetle here, even in a cameo role. I always wanted to see them have a scene together that portrayed them as adults. Not too bad.
Being a fan of good time travel stories this one could be interesting. Of course with all the time travel stuff that has occurred in the DC2 universe, it would be nice to get some clarification as to who's who and what in that area.
I have always liked Booster Gold but I haven't always been a fan of the over the top characterization. This title seems to be looking for a balance between that and a serious hero. From what I gathered, this series closely resembles the new DC Booster Gold series that includes Rip Hunter and has Booster time hop to save the universe. Since I haven't read an issue yet I am not sure.
I was not completely blown away by this first issue but it was good. I am looking forward to moving on to issue #2.

Well, color me impressed. I was never a huge Booster Gold fan, but I did like 52 a lot so I figured I'd see what version of Booster was being written here and holy cow if that first issue wasn't just great. It was a very good blend of humor, action and set up. The opening scene with Jonah Hex was dead on. This title looks like its going to be a lot of fun.

This was unexpected to see someone reading the first issue so long after is came out. I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Yeah that opening scene was a lot of fun to write. Jonah is certainly a great character to play off of. Welcome to the DC2! There are some fantastic titles to read all over the site. I hope you continue to enjoy Booster Gold!

Wow. Now I feel like a broken record. Having just joined, I was sent here from dc3 to check out Suicide Squad. Booster is my all-time fave. I am glad to see the character is getting justice both here and in mainstream DC. I really liked all the interactions in issue 1 . Felt like you hit all the guys dead on. The mystery is unique(hard to do nowadays). I am impressed. I will be reading the rest of your issues this week. If you ever need a fill-in writer, I am volunteering right now. In summation, Great Job ! Jay
