And allow me to start by saying OH YEAH!!!!!
Jay has done exceptional work on this title, and the introduction of the newest DC2 character is already shaping up to be one of his best.
Great little moments all around on this title. My favorite, though, were Nighwing and our vampire friend, and Wonder Girl's little moment with Deathstroke. I got such a big kick out of that!
The cover was fantastic, with some really sweet shading. 5 huge stars on this one!

I like the direction of the story, and have always loved the characters. I am also especially excited that you introduced Rose Wilson because she's one of my favorite characters!
Still, I thought the dialogue between the Titans and Rose was a little stilted and the plot was kind of predictable. she pretends to be a victim so they trust her and she infiltrates them? Yeah, that story has kind of been done. I hope you can take this in a new and unexpected direction!
I'm more interested in what's happening to Tara and what the hell Nightwing's going to do about balancing his lives. Still, can't wait for next issue though so, I guess all-in-all, super successful!

First of all, welcome Rapscallion! Yes, the infiltration story has been done to death. You may consider this my "answer" to that kind of story, its the first time that kind of story has happened in DC2 Titans continuity and yes I will be doing something different with it. The very fact that Slade has to use Rose because Terra told him no is a clue, in and of itself. Terra's troubles tie in with a big event that House of Mystery is writing, and Nightwing will be juggling multiple identities for a while yet, sadly. Next month it's Kid Flash's turn to get put through the wringer.....
And as for you, Charliblus, I trust the Terra sequence met with your satisfaction?

Charli...blus? ...I am terrified. I loved the continuity of the events in this title, the Batman references, the Wonder Woman references, I really enjoy the fact that we've got such tight continuity between our titles nowadays (I know I always try to keep things straight, for instance with Green Lantern and Justice League), so this issue was brilliant. The weakness I think this issue has is that there's just this soap-opera tone that is sometimes much subtler in other issues. This time round it was like watching an overdose of The OC. The whole opening with the couples and their teen issues by way of the death of Mother Nature...? It was good, but there were moments that could have been tweaked, if you know what I mean. I know that your able to weave emotion and action brilliantly together, so it's always a tight read, but there was just too much soap opera this time round for my liking. Maybe loosen up a bit? And again, CHARLIBLUS?

Charliblus is a moderately obscure reference of someone calling a kid named Charlie "Charliblus" in a book. You, terrified of me? Ha. That would be the day. Annoyed by me, I have no doubt.
I expected that the issue would not be wonderful by your reckoning, but what surprised me was why--I thought my main problem as a writer was not enough "human soap opera" moments and too much bland narrative. "And this is what happened, blah blah blah." Too much about what was happening and not enough about what the characters were feeling.
But you were, apparently, satisfied in a continuity sense, and that's what I was wondering about.

Well done on this issue...I was really happy to get some insight into our Vampiric Titan, and reading here, I can't wait to see what happens with the mole in the Titans. Really well done, and I hope we get some more of her backstory.
Kid Flash next month? Well, I know where I'll be.

This issue was pretty good. I have to agree with Charlie-- it had a soap opera feel to it-- and with rapscallion86, that the dialogue came off as stilted. That said, I liked reading Dick as NIGHTWING (yaya!), and I enjoyed his conversation with Dagon. I love your description on his balancing three completely different lives. It's nice to see Dagon's sympathy there, as well, and to see Nightwing get it off his chest... Slade's concern when Wonder Girl kicked butt was cool. While I see Rose's infilteration as predictable and at the status of a overused cliche, I am hoping you can take it to a whole new level and leave all of us-- YES, Charliblus, you too -- pleasantly surprised and eager for more. Overall, a great job on the issue. Keep up the good work, Jay.

Hey so I'm playing catch up around these parts and thought I would drop in my two cents, or two pence as it where!!!
an excellent jumping on point, I hadn't read a complete issue before this one but decided to start here, you wrote the characters with their own unique voices and styles, loved the scene set at the beginning, a night in titans tower, the only negative thing I would say is the acceptance of rose seemed a little quick. I loved how you wrote the fight scene, I felt some of those hits myself particularly the nose wipe by nightwing!!! I liked how you spotlight certain characters, want to see more raven, and am very intrigued by terras powers!
Can't wait to see the next issue!! Will catch up soon enough, and that cover is icky wish I had done more here!!
