Okay, ya fooled me. After last episode I was sure the original Paul Kirk was one of the bad guys. Of course, the Green Lantern Corps might have something to say about the whole business....if anybody other than Hal or Kyle was left.
Lots of good stuff here, including the start of the relationship with Vixen.
That cover is astounding, ain't it?

This was awesome! Lots of mystery, and a peak into the past of Shawn Marc-- Mark Shaw! I'll be back in a month!

Yeah I was kinda hoping for that it wouldn't be too clear where Paul Kirk really stood but who said that he is the original? I do believe that at some point the Manhunters connection to the GL Corps will need to be addressed. But is there a connection? This storyline spun out of a single issue story way back when and quickly grew until it became the 4 parter that it is today. It evolved a lot since it was hinted at way back in Mark Shaws Who's Who entry almost a year ago. But the one thing that never changed was that the character of Mark Shaw would receive the spotlight I felt he deserved. Thanks guys to checking things out! Your time and feedback is always appreciated.

I have to say that Craig really delivered on this cover. Combined with Ramon's colors this turned out to be one hell of a powerful cover! Thank you gentlemen if I could vote I'd give it a 5 star!

Another outstanding issue! Just when I think this title can't get anymore engrossing, it does. The history and events that are Mark Shaw is mesmerising to read. It was great to see Vixen, as well, and I have to admit that I was holding my breath in hopes of catching a glimpse of a certain Emerald Archer... until I remembered that he was in Vegas. I can't say enough on how much you have taken the characters that you choose to write and make them real human beings with both good and bad traits. It's the sign of a true craftsman. You know I'll be back, for some odd reason I seem to have a vested interest in the particular story. Again, awesome job, and the cover's lately have been just as great! 5 stars!

Good issue, although, to be honest, I didn't enjoy it as much as the last issue. Having said that, I really liked the Gotham scene, and I was glad to see Christine St. Clair pop up.

Thank you Brian. My concern was if I spent too much time on Mark Shaw people would get bored waiting for the Squad to return, which they do in full force next issue. Well, I would have loved to bring in Green Arrow. And for the record at this point in Marks story GA was not in Las Vegas yet. Thanks I really like to take the time to flesh these characters out and try to make them seem real. Glad you feel like you have a 'vested interest here' I think the payoff will be worth it for you and anyone who has been paying close enough attention.

Sorry that you didn't like this issue as well as the last. The Gotham scene was one of those that was almost cut when I was trying to fit this into 3 parts instead of 4. Glad I kept it now.
Yeah, Miss St. Clair does have an important part of DC Manhunter history and will have a small but important role in this tale before it's concluded.

I really enjoyed this issue! This writer has not only a command of obscure DC history and continuity, but a flair for making minor/lesser known characters interesting. I always thought that the Manhunter mythos was underdeveloped, so I'm glad John has taken it on, and brought it to the DC2. I do have a nitpick, though. This issue has a lot of typos, skipped words, and grammatical errors--- or at least enough for me to be unable to ignore it (it's not something I ususally point out, but for the entire issue, Star-Tsar was spelled Star Tasar ). But nothing wrong with that cover! Another superb job from a DC2 Rising Star! Keep up the good work, Craig!

I was really hoping to bring something a little different but more cohesive to the Manhunters. The next two issues shed a little more light on the Manhunter legacy and one big surprise is on the horizon for at least one character that goes by Manhunter. Of course I love to throw in obscure characters when I think it suits the story better. Plus its fun to see if they can be made interesting. I take full blame for the sloppy presentation of this issue. I was tweaking the story right up until the last minute and never gave it the proper editing it needed. I relied on Microsoft Word which for one, never recognized Star-Tsar. Sorry that it took away from the story. Next one will be better. I promise! Who wouldn't dig on that cover? IT ROCKED!!!!!!
