Congrats to my writer for a good, fascinating finish to his Hector Hammond story. The verbal battling and mindscape struggles made for a different kind of flashy showdown, and a nice examination of Hal (even if Hector makes a few too many valid points, perhaps LOL). Well done, and I look forward to the next chapter for Hal (which of course, I'm aware of, and still look forward to).
Take care Don

Well done, and I look forward to the next chapter for Hal (which of course, I'm aware of, and still look forward to). Take care Don Thanks for everything Don, though right now, for the kind words. I flew through writing this one, because I've been waiting to do my own look at Hal Jordan for a long time. I hope my analysis allowed my love for the charecter and the mythos to shine through as we walked through some of Hal's memories. You're right about Hector having some points, but the bottom line, is that Hal looks at his shortcomings and shrugs. The same thing that makes him a hero (even pre-ring) makes him act like an ass sometimes; the never ending quest to be the best and win at all costs. Once he got to the core of why he is how he is, it's a huge wake-up call. Hector got some examples right, but for the wrong reasons. Now, will Hal make moves to rectify the problems that have arisen through his actions? Wait and see.

This was awesome! I read it twice to get the full effect of it, and it blew me away. You've just solidifed your title as Green Lantern writer on this site, and I'm now going to be following your work more so than I did before. This arc was perfection, and everything paid off. Loved Abin Sur's voice being "almost happy" as it announced Hal was back, and the mindscape stuff was awesome, just bloody awesome, Hal beating Hector over the head with his arrogance, but it works, Hal IS an arrogant bastard, but he's also one of the greatest heroes in the world. So yeah, it was an alright issue.

Fantastic issue! I had the privilege of reading an advanced copy, and the second reading right now just reinforced my feelings. The dreamscape, the flashbacks, the everything (is that too broad?)... and that ending!? If I didn't know it was coming I'd have been completely floored . You are, by far, the right man for this job! Keep up the great work Daniel.

I ditto that cinco! This was a great, GREAT Green Lantern story. Nothing better than a major villain who can bring out the guilt and dark sides of a hero (even if it does just make them madder and stronger). Touching on Hal's ego and trying to have Hector use it against him was perfect. I've always thought that one of the things that both Hal and Ollie have in common is their confidence (although Hal seems to know how to handle his a bit better, LOL). The story was amazing, and you've got a long time reader on your side, here. And that ending! DID NOT SEE THAT COMING AT ALL!!! Thank you (all of you involved) for making the world of the Green Lantern so fun, month after month.

Thanks for noticing the different voices in the ring, that will come up again, I promise. Hal is an arrogant bastard, and that makes him one of the greatest heroes in the world. House, it's been a real pleasure working with you all over Green Lantern. We're truly making this the most badass corner of the DC2!!!

Well, I'm really glad you liked it, and I'm glad you picked up on some of the subtleties of the whole mindscape thing. I was trying to not hit the reader of the head with everything I was doing, and I hope I succeeded. Keep reading, and tell all your friends.

This is some great GL stuff here. I've only read this last issue, as I've been away for a while, but despite that I had a pretty good grip on what was going on. Not the best place to jump in, but you've gotta start somewhere.
Your Hector Hammond was very creepy and well written. I suspect we haven't seen the last of him.
But most of all this issue was a good examination of what makes Hal tick. Touching on all facets of his life, we truly see why Hal is the hero he is, and why he deserves to sling the ring. I liked the nods to the Jordan family, Hal's past, and Carol Ferris. I love Carol Ferris.
Yep, the ending sure surprised me.
Love what you're doing here, and I'll be back next issue.

Thanks for the kind words, and thanks for taking the time to read it.
While this wasn't my first issue on GL, it was my first chance at explaining how I see our title character, and what exactly makes him tick. Not too bad of a jumping on point.
This won't be the last time we delve into what makes Harold Jordan tick, but the next few months will hopefully define him further as a hero.
Surprise endings? It's what we do here!
