A very cool outing for an Annual. I got a little lost at first but the second time through I totally got it and found it to be a really cool story. Great plotting and terrific characterization. Of course, you quoted U2 (second favorite band of mine), and mentioned that nagging subplot of Chloe and the baby. Those two things tickeled the heck out of me. Great job!
The second story was just as solid and a very interesting tale that was seen from a very cool perspective. Alan Scott is my favorite Golden Age character, so any story with him in it, is a plus in my book!
and of course, I'd be remiss without giving kudo's to a masterful cover. Elegant describes it in one word.
Terrific job, everyone!

You know, for a minute I thought the first story was going to be the origin of Metamorpho? HA! Ahhh, but the second story, about Alan and the Harlequin, that was pure awesomeness. Five stars, guys!

Back story: This was written when the book was in limbo again, after my run ended and before Daniel's began. I asked Scott (believing him to be editor still) if we needed a fill-in, because I was feeling eager to go a bit idea-crazy again, and he said yet. I finished writing it that very day, and then found out... We didn't need a fill in. But we got here in the end P On that U2 point: I asked Scott what he thought about that and he approved. It was either that or Coldplay, and who really wants to play up that old joke?

Just wondering when the second story took place? If it was in the Fourties then I believe you had one minor historical inaccuracy. I don't believe the FCC was called that until the Sixties. Before then it was called (and I can't remember exactly) something like the Radio Broadcasdting Board. Anyway I seem to remember that the it was later renamed the FCC. Sorry if I'm wrong.

Actually, there was no error. The FCC was established by the Federal Communications Act of 1934 to replace the Federal Radio Commission, although the new law contained largely the same provisions of the earlier act that had established that agency (begun in 1924, I think, but not positive off-hand...maybe '27). Thanks for your keeping after me though. Take care Don
