It was my pleasure to assist you, heh. It was interesting to see where my little bits were worked into the larger narrative. I caught the Braveheart, X-files, and Pulp Fiction references; the Braveheart quote in particular is a favorite of mine. See you next ish...in more ways than one. Edit: I wonder who Hal owes the favor to....

If it wasn't for you I never would have been able to finish the issue on time! Wait.... At least your stuff really popped! Good catch on all of them...wait I think you missed one...make that two The story started out inspired by The Rock and Con Air so I lifted quiet a few movie references to add to the fun. I also lifted Black Hands condition and abilities from two X Files episodes: 3-17, 5-8. Oh yeah! The Star Sapphire issue! Good stuff should follow! I wonder that myself? I hope I can figure it out before I turn this title back over to Scott when he's ready. Scott....

Great conclusion to this story! I mean really, really, great! I loved the references to the first Crisis and the use of its history. This story in its entirety was a roller coaster ride of thrills, and excitement, with great twists and turns. Everything I've come to expect from the writer! And on a personal note, thank you John, that was very kind. Also, dude! In two small, but very important scene's, you have so helped certain things move forward, and believe me, they will be used. Great job, everyone involved!

Thanks Brian! Though I struggled writing my first 'super hero' tale for this site I had a lot of fun and was extremely happy with how it all turned out. Your welcome. You must wanna use the Masters of Disaster I take it? Thanks goes out again to Jay for making this story pop. Thanks to Mark as well for making me look like a better writer then I am. Also, the overworked team of Craig and Ramon turned out another stellar cover which added a lot of class to this story! Thanks guys!

I've been staring in awe at the thumbnail for the cover for weeks now, and I'm glad we finally got the story to go with it!
Okay, we got an expalnation for the mind-switch. A very minor one, but it was there. Caught the Pulp Fiction line right off -- I love you too, Honeybunny! -- but the following line of "Nobody robs my father's bank but me!" was better. Then we got a great slam-bang fight, first with the MoD, then WW comes in to bust heads. Wonderful!
The end, however, was anti-climactic. This "everything's all fixed now, but we're not gonna tell you how" deal is weak. Very deus ex machina. Other than that, you did a good job, and I'm looking forward to Star Sapphire.

This was a fun finale! I picked up on a lot of the references, but not all, I was too into the story to pick it apart!
I do think the mind-switch explanation was breezed over a bit quickly, but so what, I don't think a detailed explanation was really needed. As comic readers we take a lot on faith alone, you know? I don't need a detailed explanation on how a power ring works (though I do know, surprise there, huh?) I just want to know that it does work!
All in all... That was a tasty burger!

Thanks for sticking around to see how it all turned out Susan. That means a lot to me! That stupid thing called 'real life' has been a pain lately. But I can promise less delays from now on. I cringed when I wrote this issue because of you mentioned last time about wanting a plausible explanation. The bank robbery line was one of my favorites too! Of course doing the movie quotes was never planned but just seemed like a fun thing to do. Glad it worked out as well as it did. The fight scenes were all Jay working his magic. I just kind of squeezed my stuff in around it. It wasn't my intention to leave readers with the idea that everything is all fixed now. As a matter a fact Hal will struggle in the next couple of issues as he deals with aftermath of this story arc. Of course if you are referring to the switcheroo, then I am sorry that you feel cheated. Hal will have to eventually deal with the consequences of that a short ways down the road with a few more detailed explanations thrown in just for you Susan.

Thanks Scott! Knowing that you enjoyed the tale makes me happy because well.... it means that I didn't totally mess up the restaurant while you were gone. I guess I might be confused a bit here. Is the concern how Black Hand did the switch in the physical sense or who was behind the scenes pulling the strings? I ask because honestly, I really didn't explain either very well. One was on purpose and the other was because a magician never reveals his tricks! "What?" SAY WHAT AGAIN! I DARE YA!

I think it was the 'how' he pulled it off... that's all...

I think it was the 'how' he pulled it off... that's all... Well, to expand on that a little more:: It was established in GL #4 that Black Hand had developed a device that put him on par with a Green Lantern’s ring. In that same issue it was shown that BH was able to switch places with Hal while he distracted him during the conversation. In issue #6 Black Hand reveals that the Power Revolution (in truth is a different group entirely), hired Black Hand to take over Green Lantern’s life by upgrading his powers to take over his enemy’s body. Is was also established that Black Hand has a 'power of persuasion' that he used to manipulate people, which Hal began to realize was how BL became so good at escaping prison. Hal in turn used that power to orchestrate his escape from Alcatraz. This was a DC2 added power and not part of the original DC version of the character. Sorry if anyone else felt cheated by that, I just never thought to expand of the technical aspect of the transfer itself and was thinking along the lines of suspended disbelief and story flow. Reading back over the entire story, I see now that I could have done it better while still keeping to my original idea. I will keep that in mind for future stories.

Dude, there is no reason at all to explain, nor apologize! You read the Legion Virus saga... there was a lot in there to be taken on faith alone! I just ran with it!
As far as the Black Hand story goes, I didn't feel cheated in the least! Bring on Star Sapphire!!!

Sorry if I sound like a nitpicker, John. I can take things on faith, but since Black Hand suddenly appeared with a power he'd never had before, I figured an explanation of some sort was in order. Think of it like if Batman suddenly sprouted literal wings and began flying...you'd hope somebody would tell you how the fudge that happened and not get a glossed-over answer. Anyway, I got the line about this Power Revolution enhancing his mental powers so he could do a mind-switch and not just the persuasion thing. Short, but an expalnation, thank you. The thing I was nitpcking for the last issue here was Hal and Black Hand (still swapped) both get lassoed, there's an electrical shock ( ) and then Hal wakes up all hunky-dory and himself again. Now unless you want to tell me that the Lasso of Truth has the power to reverse a mind-whammy of this caliber (which you didn't -- you seem to imply that some unknown other force is responsible) then I think we're missing something here. Let me say once again that this is the ONLY problem I found with the whole arc. I'ts just that a major part of the story hinges on it, y'know? Feel free to tell me to shut my pie-hole if you want.

You are 100% right about everything you said so I can't tell you to shut up even if I wanted to! Two things: 1) I felt that Black Hand was a minor enough villain that adding the other power was a fun twist in the tradition of Scotts work with this title. It is still the only title to really make a large leap from regular continuity as far as character development goes IMHO. 2) Not explaining 'the other forces involved' was my attempt at adding a little mystery to be played with later after an arc called 'The Brave and the Bold'. But that was when I planned on working on this title through the rest of the year. Of course now I am going to have to step away from the title after issue #8 in July and call it a day. But since I had a definite plan for what happened between GL and WW, I promise to tell that tale in an issue of All-Star Comics some day down the road. Thanks Susan for providing the feedback that you have (as well as everyone else). It means a lot and has made my short run on this book incredibly fun and rewarding.
