Well, while I liked certain things (especially the characterisation of Jewelee), other things didn't quite work for me. I could have done without the repeated paragraphs from the start of the story (which just seemed a bit lazy) and - possibly because I'm not a regular reader - I was somewhat confused as to why exactly Jewelee's weapon didn't work on GL. Also, once Black Hand revealed his plan, I wasn't sure why he hadn't done it straight away rather than indulging in what seemed (eventually) like a pointless conversation first. Also, to be ridiculously picky, I was quite surprised, considering this issue had two editors, to find typos in there that a simple spellcheck should have spotted.
Excellent cover (that I forgot to take into account when rating the issue, otherwise I'd have given it one star more).

The typo's are all my fault. That was my job and I failed. Won't happen again. To John, I am very sorry.

Thanks for reading Mark! Jewelee was fun as are most crazy super villain chicks (at least to me) The repeated stuff was an attempt at the classic comic tales that showed a scene and then repeated it once it was shown how it fit into the tale. Also it was done to reveal how Hal got out of the situation. I almost left it out but thought it would work better all together. Sorry it didn't do that for you. The reason that color didn't work on Hal was revealed a short while back and again thought it would work in well. I am not sure what you mean about the conversation after Black Hand revealed his plan. I thought he didn't reveal it until the end and the story cut off right there? Did I give something away too early or did you pick up on it sooner? The editing team didn't get this issue until the last minute due to problems that were on my end. So it is only fair to let Brian off the hook here and promise that the next two issues will have plenty of time to be looked over before posting. THE COVER ROCKED 1000% and it truly deserves at least 5 stars all on its own!

Great debut on this title, John! While I miss Scott's overconfident, almost-snarky flyboy, I did enjoy your Peter Parker-esque take on GL.
As much as I like Chloe Sullivan in this (and I thought her scene with Hal really added to her growing character), I wasn't too sad to see her go. Let's see some more Carol Ferris!
The scene with Punch and Jewelee was pure comic book fun--- it's nice to see our heroes take on menaces that aren't life- or world-threatening all the time! It harkens back to a simpler, silvery age ;D. I could almost see Gil Kane drawing that scene!
Nice touch with the prophecies of the new age--- and if I'm not mistaken, we've seen a little bit of that coming to pass already ("A hero falls to the darkside..." could refer to Captain Marvel the Elder falling in battle to Darkseid in last summer's Crisis... and as for the rest of it... Intriguing...!). Can't wait to see this stuff play out.
Nice cliffhanger, too. I, for one, didn't see this coming! Leaves me eagerly awaiting next issue, though! I hope we get to see Black Hand making a mess of things as GL, maybe putting the moves on Carol...!
Overall, a great effort, and I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Riz's cover was pure candy for the eyes! It almost looked three-D!

Argh, no! I hate these kinds of stories! They scare the living crap out of me! Gah... Apart from the ending, I loved it (not that I didn't enjoy the ending, it's just that body swaps make me uncomfortable). Well written. Great dialogue. Great characterisation, and I'm glad we've not forgotten about Ferris!! I'll be back next issue... RESOLVE THIS JOHN! RESOLVE THIS FAST!!

(And more....and more....heheheh.....) Black Hand scares the heck out of me. But I'm sure you will resolve it; after all Kyle simply isn't ready. And glad you're back from the work fatigue pit of dooooom!

I didn't start out with the Peter Parker type take on Hal but I wanted to show that not everything goes Hal's way all the time! Of course with what he will be facing in the next two issues he won't have much of a chance to be snarky or overconfident anytime soon. Chloe is an awesome character and I hated to see her go but Scott made me kick her to the curb! j/k but I wonder what Carol will think of Hal makeover next issue? The point of that scene was to have a little fun before the dark stuff took over for the next two issues. Nice catch on the crisis stuff but...wasn't Black Hand lying about the Power Revolution? If not, has there been someone manipulating events in the DC2 from the beginning? What fun would that be? Almost as fun as seeing Hal stuck in a prison cell? Next issue has both. Thanks for reading and replying Dave!

Thanks for reading and replying Jay and Charlie. Sorry to scare you and make you uncomfortable. So just for you, the story arc will end in two more issues then the planned 12. I had some great ideas for a decompressed two trade paperback type tale but oh well. Maybe Chloe should stick around and fight it out with Carol! Who doesn't like a great chick fight huh? Too bad Hal will be in a prison full of guys and miss the whole thing! I wasn't sure if Black Hand would come off scary or not but he might even get scary next issue when he begins his new life. You're right Jay, Kyle wouldn't be ready just yet but I hear be is suppose to shine in his own series sometime soon eventually maybe. Right Ramon?

Well this is my first GL story I've read at DC2...well done. I actually like the return to the same scene througout....very cool. You could have maybe punched it up a bit so the story more naturally turned on that moment, but it is a cool device that can work well. Also, the body snatcher routine huh? How silver age!

Thanks for checking it Craig. I encourage everyone to check out the previous series (Tales of the Green Lantern Corps) and the issues hat led up to this one. Scott does amazing things with Hal and the gang. It was extremely hard to follow this stellar run but I was thankful for the chance to tel this story. This was the hardest issue I ever had to write here but it was a lot of fun.
The Silver age was great, so glad you like my small nod to very fun time in comics. Things shift a bit in the next two issues so be sure to come back. I think things do get 'punched up' at least a little bit.

ANyway I really like the issue however the typos and things were annoying but I did like the repeated scene from the start...very good comic reference. It was a little different to how Im used to my GL but I cant put my finger on it. I guess its just your style. Anyway I liked it. Didnt think it was amazing however it was only the start of a new arc so it wasn't going to be spectucularly fast paced. Good though.

Thanks for reading and replying Robert. The prophecy's of the new age were meant to be vague but all of them were about specific events that have happened or yet to happen. Of course they might not, because I think that Black Hand lied to Hal a lot didn't he? I knew following Scott would be a little jarring because he captures Green Lantern so perfectly. I don't have a traditional GL story in me. But, my goal was to tell a completely different story then had been seen before but still showcase why Hal is cool. But as for being spectacular and fast paced, thats it. Thats all I have. Next issue has Hal in prison and Black Hand hanging out in Hals apartment ordering take out and running up Hal credit cards on Ebay.

What...the...fudge?!? How did he do that? There'd better be a good explanation down the line! Damn good bait-and-switch. I had to reread the paragraph twice before I realized what happened. I didn't expect that in a million years! Poor Hal, he never gets a break, does he?

Thanks for reading Susan and glad you enjoyed the surprise ending. Hal should catch a break next issue when he has some free time just chillin' in Black Hands jail cell. Wait, scratch that! He better figure how he's gonna go get his life back. Yep, no break in sight.
