I loved this! But I hated that exchange. Of course The Phantom Stranger would care! AND TALA!! Wooo, click this link to see more Phantom Stranger from Dan, and more Tala! (Wooo!) House Of Mystery #1 and be sure to tell us what you think of it over there!

Whoops, I worded that exchange awkwardly. I just meant him to say that what Boston was talking about wasn't why the Stranger was looking at him like that. And I'm glad you liked the setup for that thing we were talking about .

What made this second part work was that you really focused on Boston Brand and how the story was seen through him. Like I said last time, you found his voice and you used it to tell a pretty cool origin story.
I liked tying Deadman in with the Lords of Order and Chaos as well as the Phantom Stranger and one of his old foes Tala.
Good stuff all around. Can't wait to see where Deadman pops up next here at DC2.
It also must be said that Ramon as the dark/creppy/cool cover thing down pat!

Thanks. Getting into the character's head is what I focus on the most in my stories, and has been a focal point in this as well as my Animal Man story a couple issues back. What I liked about this issue is that I could begin to show the real Boston Brand, the one that jokes around and is very lighthearted. I would have liked to just write a story with him acting like that the whole way through, but I feel that this tragic story is important to the character and showing his transition from life to death to kind of a rebirth was something that I really wanted to show. I may not be good with making action sequences very exciting at this point, but if nothing else I hope people that read this felt an emotional connection to Boston.
Hell yes. His Deadman design is very original and he captured Deadman and the Phantom Stranger's character perfectly.

I really enjoyed the end to this story. It left a lot open and actually took the character of Phantom Stranger and moved it forward a bit. Great job to both writer and artist on this one!

Great story, and I liked the conclusion. Can't wait to see where things go from here.

Good story, although personally, and this is just a small gripe that only I seem to have, I kind of missed Rama Kushna not being involved in Deadman's origin anymore (tying him in with order and chaos didn't strike me as that much of an improvement). Really liked the funeral scene.
