I was worried for the first few minutes that this issue was going to get bogged down in exposition, but Chris, you saved the issue with some chock-a-block action, some witty dialogue (that felt forced in parts but not enough to drown the issue) and some great characterisation of Ted Kord. It's interesting to hear that there are going to be ramifications for his "outing" outside of the superhero-set, but what's a vigilante to do if he doesn't have access to STAR Labs?! Peacemaker was a joy to read, and his slant on events gave it a feeling of nostalgia, not of expositional drag. I'll be back in... what? 60? ;D

I liked the first two issue. The only thing that "bugged" me (pun intended) was that it's Jaime, not Jamie. And that he should have been the one to use the first aid kit with his mother working in a hospital and all of this...
Otherwise a very nice book so far. I'm looking forward to the next issue.

Thanks Charlie. The exposition was rough. I was trying to relay the history without being too boring or doing a whole flashback thing. Glad it worked to some degree.

Thanks for commenting Riz. As far as Jaime vs. Jamie, I blame Dave. Can I blame Dave? There's usually a way to blame Charlie but I'd have to really Reach this time.(pun intended)

Completely, I'm going to see if my efforts work with #6 of SSoSV (/shameless) because I'm in the same position. It worked, and I completely understand how bad it can get. You persevered though mate, and that's fantastic!! ;D

Loved this issue! I am privileged to edit this title. but am having as much fun reading it as anybody else, and I want folks to know it! Chris has a lot of affection for Blue Beetle--- all Blue Beetles!--- and it really comes through not just in his writing, but in his cover art as well!

I most enjoyed how he is exploring the origin and legacy of Blue Beetle, with one foot in the past, one in the future, and a whole lot of action and drama in the here-and-now!

As for the Jamie/Jaime question--- totally my bad, but it really is Charlie's fault... somehow. It just is.

Can't wait until next month!

Really fun issue. The care you have for everything Blue Beetle is obvious in your storytelling. I also love your take on Paco. Him and Jamie were my favorite part.

Though the way you've worked Peacemaker into this is ingenious.

Sweet cover. 4 stars.
