I said it in the issue and I'll say it again here, I didn't want Green Lantern #50 hitting the site with any holes in the run! You didn't see that with Teen Titans #50 or Detective Comics #50, and you won't see it here (congrats to Jay on that milestone, by the way. I know how hard it is to tell a longform story and when all is said and done, we're lucky as a site to have his commitment to his characters and the DC2 concept), so I'm pleased to finally post up Green Lantern #3, an adventure showcasing why John Stewart is one of the greatest Green Lanterns to ever live!
Now, as ever, please tell us what you thought of this issue!

Also, thanks to Fantomas for inspiring me to try something different with the scene breaks. A very interesting experiment in layout, and one I'd be interested in your feedback on.

I hope I can follow through on a cool new addition to the DC2 then!

I thought the scene breaks were very cool.
I thought I commented on this issue already, but I guess we can chalk that up to my increasingly advanced age.
Five star effort on this issue. Blown away by the cover (so good to see Brandon's art on the site!), blown away by the writer's commitment to return to an issue that is no longer a gaping hole in his continuity, and blown away by a terrific and powerful story of heroism and loss and consequences.
I started reading it and couldn't stop.
Brutal. Hard. Powerful story. I can see why this took a while to finish, and it is damn well worth the wait.

As a latecomer to these issues, I didn't have to wait for the ending but that didn't make it anymore difficult to read. David seems to have said it best, this was a brutal, hard, and powerful story. A very neat introduction to John Stewart, and I can also see why it was hard to finish. (The scene breaks were fun, I feel like they helped with the visual identity of the issue and the 'comicness' of the site.) You're version of the power ring is fascinating and awesome. I love your portrayal of Stewart and his connection to Darkseid. Quite a twist of the knife in third issue. A moving story that I'm glad I got to read in it's entirety.

A very neat introduction to John Stewart, and I can also see why it was hard to finish. I think I wrote myself into a corner, but I was also trying to get all kinds of threads resolved going into " Scarlet Reign"; the disappearance of Rann after the Predator's attack in "Love Lost" was a gaping hole in the tapestry of the DC2, and it was important to get it sorted before moving forward. I also think that this was one of those stories that I only had the vaguest idea of where I wanted to go with it, so I was writing a Round Robin with myself! Oh, so #1 ends here? I guess #2 needs to go here, etc. (The scene breaks were fun, I feel like they helped with the visual identity of the issue and the 'comicness' of the site.) I think I've said before, but I was trying all sorts at this time. As well as stylistic choice, it meant that scene breaks could be indicated without revealing where events were taking place... I enjoyed that as a tool to perpetuate certain mysteries through the story. You're version of the power ring is fascinating and awesome. I love your portrayal of Stewart and his connection to Darkseid. Quite a twist of the knife in third issue. A moving story that I'm glad I got to read in it's entirety. I go on a lot about the depth of continuity the DC2 has, and I wanted to revisit the "glory days" of the site that I hold in such high regard when I was writing this new Green Lantern #1. Connecting "The Apokolips Imperative" and the somewhat abstract nature of John's military service made perfect sense, as it meant that there was this additional shading to John's character that meant he was DC2 through-and-through. The site-wide event we referred to as the IXE in the planning stages (literally, " Issue Ten Event") was one of the crowning triumphs of the site, continued with the IXXE ( "Justice League Vs America"). Each subsequent event took a different format. IXE literally ran through every issue on the site at the time (a logistical feat I don't think any company or site could compete with). IXXE was a four issue miniseries with tie-ins in relevant titles. Other events... Zero Hour was haphazard in execution. Gotham: City of the Dead was a gem of a series (if I do say so myself) and tied into some stuff left over from IXE. We never did reach the site-wide event glory that we once did. I'm proud of my work on Nemesis, but I've also failed more times than succeeded... Lamention Day... Most Wanted... The Omega Point... Twin Suns... Hopefully something I have planned called Justice League RIP and the fallout will be a success. We'll see! In less than a year!
