Editor's Note:I have had the honor of working for some really fantastic writers on some really great books, Action Comics is the perfect example.
Since I was given the job of Editor for this book I've had the chance to work with Roy Flinchum, a superb writer and artist. His Superman was a true fan's tribute to the Man of Steel. The birth of both Supergirl and Superboy, during his tenure, were two keystone events to the DC2. I thank him for allowing me the chance to work with him.
When Roy left I had contemplated leaving as well, but the chance to work with Roy's successor, Pat Owen, was too good of a chance to pass up. I really wish I could stay (and if this pesky thing called real life wasn't in the way - I would!). Pat is an excellent writer with an amazing vision for DC2's Man of Steel. I know I'm going to be reading it loyally and I hope that all of you do as well.
Thank you to all the artists that have contributed to this series as well. DC2 is only as good as the artists that keep us soaring.
Most of all, thank you, everyone, for keeping this site moving forward, from reader and beyond. This site would not be everything it is without every last one of you.
I'm off now, handing over the reigns of Editor to the next lucky person. It's been a blast. Up, up and away!

A strong, well-written issue, which breaks down Tyler's reasons for doing what he's doing, and makes him a sad, almost-sympathetic character-- until he buys some Kryptonite and attacks Superman. Superboy is grating against me, I guess I'm used to where he is now in the DCU, but I'm sure I'll begin to click with him down the line, it just might take some time. His power discovery was awkwardly done, but effective none the less.
I'm a bit shaky with your characterisation of Superman this issue though, Pat. Before, he seemed quite strong, but he seemed really... flat this time around. Not so much a character but more an impression of the guy. I don't know, I don't think he should have got suckered like he did. He's been doing this for just under a decade, and to not anticipate this lunatic jumping him, allowing himself to get a bit complacent... I expected better of him.
Anyways, a minor blip in an otherwise strong continuing run, I'll be back next issue, in more ways than one.
Brian, it's sad to see you go, but you've done great stuff chaperoning this title, and I'm glad you're taking a step back and doing what makes you happy-- because, invariably, what makes you happy makes us all giddy, so I'm looking forward to all your other projects across the board

Yes, he's sympathetic but like Superman said, doesn't give him the right to do what he's done.

Superboy's going to have some cool developments IMO soon. So hopefully he'll stop grating on you

Sorry he felt a bit flat, Charlie but I think one of Superman's greatest weaknesses is trying to see the good in everyone. He hoped he could just take Tyler into custody without much of a problem, a bit of that hopefulness coming from the fact that Tyler was once a cop, but as you read, soon learned otherwise.

A satisfactory conclusion to this arc. Interesting to see a Flash Rogue make an appearance. But there's something that is missing from this title, and I can't really put my finger onwhat it is... Sorry Pat, I want to like this (as Superman is my favorite DCU character), and I want him to shine at the DC2... but something is not working. I wish I could be more helpful, feedback-wise
Still not loving Superboy. In fact, I kinda hate him. Between his genetic origin and his prick attitude, I just don't like reading him.
Super-awesome cover, though! And the buzz is the Toyman issue is great, so I'm still onboard!
